Marbella

Vibrant. That is the word that best describes this beautiful community. People are full of life, the heat keeps us moving, and the greatest gift is a day well spent.

Located along Route 160, right between Nosara and Tamarindo — not too close, yet not too far from these major tourist hubs in Guanacaste — Marbella has remained isolated and protected from large-scale development, largely due to its challenging access. Natural beauty abounds here, and when it comes to waves, there’s a bit of everything and plenty to go around.

The beach lies 2 kilometers from the main population center, which makes it feel somewhat detached from the town. The original locals are passionate about fishing, soccer, and partying — in that order of priority. The main sources of employment come from the many vacation homes spread across different residential developments on the outskirts of Marbella. Construction is also a major source of work; however, Marbella’s geographic isolation means that any business logistics require extra resources to transport materials from other towns such as Santa Cruz, Nicoya, Liberia, Nosara, or Tamarindo.

The climate is delightful. Some days the heat can be unbearable, but the nights are usually cool, and a simple fan is enough to sleep comfortably. During the dry season, from December to April, the vegetation becomes sparse and shades of yellow dominate. However, after May the tropical forest regains its strength, painting everything an unstoppable green: trees regain their leaves, and the rains fall like fertilizer on the land.

Living here is beautiful — peaceful and natural. And although at times you might feel a bit isolated, when that happens you just take a quick trip to Tamarindo and the feeling soon fades away.

Vibrante. Esa es la palabra que mejor describe esta hermosa comunidad. La gente tiene ganas de vivir, el calor nos activa y el mejor regalo es un día bien aprovechado.

Ubicada sobre la Ruta 160, justo en medio de Nosara y Tamarindo, ni tan cerca ni tan lejos de estos grandes focos de turismo en Guanacaste, Marbella se ha mantenido aislada y protegida del desarrollo, en gran parte por su difícil acceso. Bellezas naturales le sobran, y ni hablar de las olas: hay de todo un poco y siempre en abundancia.

La playa se encuentra a 2 kilómetros del principal centro de población, lo que hace que se sienta un poco aislada del pueblo. Los pobladores originarios son amantes de la pesca, el fútbol y la fiesta, en ese orden de prioridad. Las principales fuentes de empleo provienen de las múltiples casas vacacionales en los diferentes desarrollos residenciales en la periferia de Marbella. La construcción también es una fuente laboral importante; sin embargo, el aislamiento geográfico de Marbella hace que cualquier logística empresarial requiera recursos adicionales para movilizarse hacia lugares como Santa Cruz, Nicoya, Liberia, Nosara o Tamarindo para conseguir materiales.

El clima es sabroso. Hay días en que el calor no se aguanta, pero normalmente las noches son frescas y con un abanico basta para dormir. En la época seca, de diciembre a abril, la vegetación se vuelve menos densa y el color amarillo predomina. Sin embargo, después de mayo el bosque tropical recupera su fuerza y tiñe todo de verde incontrolable: los árboles reverdecen y la lluvia como abono para el monte.

Es lindo vivir aquí, tranquilo y natural. Aunque a veces puedes llegar a sentirte un poco aislado, cuando eso pasa te das una vuelta a Tamarindo y rapidito se te pasa.
